Beryllium has many properties: it can be used in nuclear weapon devices, reflector materials in various nuclear reactors, deceleration materials, and neutron source materials. The materials test reactor (JMTR) and research reactor (jrr-3) of Japan atomic energy research institute use beryllium as reflective layer material. In addition, because of its low density (like heavy water), beryllium can also be used as a speed reducer in nuclear reactors, unlike heavy water, which evaporates at 100 .

At present, beryllium has been applied to medical equipment, industrial testing equipment, tomography scanning device and CT window material. Beryllium is also used in other window materials with pressurized chamber instruments. Beryllium is also used in household appliances. It has been reported that the vibrator plates of some audio amplifiers are made of beryllium, which can also be used as part of the sample stand for electron microscopes. Beryllium can be used as an alloy additive.
